I'm a poet who makes his living from collaboration.
I passionately believe that poetry is undershooting it's mark on the international fine arts scene. My work often reflects that.
Not in content, don't worry, in presentation.
We do wicked things in Liverpool and London. Music, illustration and poetry, and our new sister, performance art.
Here's a performance of mine...
This is our… Continue

I'm excited to announce that the online literary publication, Poetic Monthly Magazine, accepted my application to become a staff writer and my column will begin appearing in next month's issue. I was introduced to its founder, Martin D. White, by my good friend and fellow author Diane Tegarden.
Martin describes his magazine: "Poetic Monthly Magazine is so much more than just poetry. Each month our talented staff writers [discuss] writing, poetry styles, book promotion, and other… Continue

You're my fave
All week long

It's Miller time folks
Give yourselves a hand
We hit an all time low
Let the testimony stand
Bullshit is truth
Ignorance is bliss
It doesn't get any better
Any better than this
Gather round friends
Lend me your ears
let's reduce these motherf*****
to a pool of tears
Let's burn our candle down to the wick
It's a brand a new religion
Celebrate the Sick

Though poetry is making a comeback, especially classic poetry, traditional publishers, such as Random House and Penguin Group, are still hesitant to take on such a project. It would be helpful if everyone who enjoys poetry would let major publishers know by going to their websites and sending comments. Start by looking inside the covers in your favorite books and see who the publisher is. Then look them up online.
Buying gobs of poetry books wouldn't hurt either.

Oh you, you didn't know

You didn't think you were breaking my heart
'Cos you knew it was falling apart
I looked down and realized
That I lost everything

Oh you, you didn't know (x3)

Leave behind what's left before
Peace of mind and a closing door
Time will tell the truth for all
You can't find what's meant to be lost

Be proud of your pain
Again and again
It's caused a big stain
But that's your refrain
I'm proud of my pain

In today's issue of the Hutchinson News, an article appeared about me and my relationship with Greensburg, KS, and the 5.4.7 Arts Center. "Poet, Arts Center 'Splendid' Partners," describes my new book as well as my interest in the small town's rebuilding efforts. About two hours west of Wichita, Greensburg was obliterated by an EF-5 tornado in May 2007.
'Splendid' refers to the title of my book, "A Splendid Alternative" and the title poem inspired by Greensburg's phoenix-like… Continue
