I haven't sent out news in a while...

I've been working on my next book, which should be complete and available by the end of March. I hope your Valentine's Day was special, as Mexican dinners with my Valentine always are.

My latest article, "The Scene of the Rhyme", was published today on Poetic Monthly Magazine. You can find it at http://www.poetstage.com/poeticmonthly.htm on page 46 using the "View Free PDF" link about half a page down. I am asked about rhyming poetry all the time and this column attempts to explain my thoughts on the subject.

I've been mentioned again in February's "Staff Picks" on GotPoetry.com for my participation in the "Blair Pentathlon," which requires a poet to write five poems in five specified styles in five days. Since my last poetic form article on AC about how to write a "Blitz" poem (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2671473/poetic_form_the_bl...), I've been in contact with the form's inventor, Robert Keim, and he has given me some great background on the reasoning behind it. AC has agreed to let me post an updated version of the piece that will include comments and more detail from Mr. Keim's correspondence. I'll announce when the updated article is available.
